RECYCLING AND CHARITABLE DONATIONS
Although extremely physical, clearing a house clearance can be a simple process, especially if you just want to chuck everything on to a van, and take it all to your local tip. Which in some instances is the best option.
However if carried out ethically, a house clearance can be a great opportunity to donate unwanted furniture, clothes, books etc and recycle (metals, textiles, plastic etc).
Which is great way to help local charities and good causes, it can also make parting with a loved ones possessions, just a little bit easier.
We are passionate about recycling and get great satisfaction from donating the stuff we clear. Which is great for the environment and our customers.
Our approach to recycling means we spend less on commercial rubbish fees, which in turn makes our house clearance service cheaper and greener for you.
THINGS WE CAN DONATE TO CHARITY
- ELECTRICAL ITEMS
- CD’s VINYL &
- BRIC A BRAC
PLEASE REMEMBER Donating items which are broken, chipped, dirty, damaged, or excessively large and heavy, could result in the charity paying to dispose of the item themselves. Which would be detrimental to our future recycling efforts with that organisation.
WHERE WE DONATE IN HAMPSHIRE
Because we use large luton vans, we need to donate items to the larger charity HQ / warehouses where they can receive furniture and sort and redistribute smaller items such as clothes and bric a brac for their high street outlets.
Depending on where we are working in Hampshire we will use the following charities:
- Phyliss Tuckwell – Farnham
- Community Furniture Project – Basingstoke
- Emmaus – Winchester
WHERE DOES THE RUBBISH AND JUNK GO ?
After trying the items at charity, whatever isn’t accepted, we take to the recycling centre/ waste transfer station
We have found this process the best way of filtering and optimising the recycling process. In many instances we have placed a whole vans worth of items with a charity, which is immensely satisfying and saves you £100’s in commercial recycling fee’s
We use only licensed recycling centres / waste transfer stations in Berkshire, Surrey and Hampshire. Their recycle rates range from 84% to 99.8%.
The waste we dispose off on your behalf, is then separated e.g metal, plastic, glass, paper wood fabric etc. This is done by machines then by hand where needed.
Once the materials have been recovered, they are either sold back to manufacturers and the mixed municipal waste is bailed for waste energy and shipped to countries like Norway and Germany.
